For me Christmas Eve 2008 will forever be remembered not for the tree, not for the party or the huge snow storm but for the amazing night sky. With candles placed in the cracks of the mountains the night sky was dark but the valley of the mountain was warm with candle light. As the candle glow faded we could see the stars dance across the night sky. When the first shooting star came out I made a wish.

Waking up Christmas morning in the mountains there was the pure beauty of nature. The sun slowly rose. The sky went from black, to dark blue to a deep shade of pink until the morning sunshine arrived on Christmas Day 2008! Merry Christmas!
Your article about being in the mountains for Christmas was touching. Every year my ten year old daughter and I go skiing for Christmas at Big Bear, Snow Summit and stay in a cozy cabin with a wood burning fireplace. But not this year as I have a flu, lack of funds, and getting ready to go “live” with my new travel website, GetATrip.com on January 25th, 2009.
I hope this is the last year I miss mother nature for Christmas and make Christmas travel next year’s priority!
Okay, so I just left a reply and it went into “the void”. Every year my daughter and I travel to either Big Bear for Christmas or some other ski mountain. But, I had the flu, lack of funds, and am ready to go “live” with my new Travel website GetATrip.com on January 25th’2009.
It has been a long journey creating one of the most comprehensive travel websites in the world. But my daughter and I paid the price this year and know real success is like being in the mountains on Christmas and playing in the snow and smelling the pine trees. Thanks for the memories!
